Background

 

The background for the Salinometers dates back to the nineteen fifties when Elektromekano, later known as Dansk Radio, produced a Salinometer named SL-1. Then came the models SL-2, SL-20 and SL-30. The first SL-3000 was developed in 1984 and soon after came the SL-3005 model.

 

In the late nineteen eighties the requirements for measuring range, computer interface, alarm levels etc. grew stronger, which led to the development of the micro processor based Salinometer DSC-5000. This Salinometer was able to measure in ppm, microsiemens as well as temperatures. Furthermore it was possible to apply different warning settings e.g. upper and lower alarm, primary - and secondary alarm and hysteresis curves. Unfortunately, the DSC-5000 was too complicated to operate and therefore the production was stopped within few years.

 

In 1993 Uni-Safe Electronics A/S took over the sales of the Salinometers from Terma Electronics (by Dansk Radio) and by 1995 Uni-Safe Electronics A/S had taken over all production rights for SL3000 and SL3005.

 

In 1996 the Salinometer SL6000 was developed. The salinometer was thoroughly tested by Det Norske Veritas (DNV) and fulfils most international classification societies demands.

 

In 1999 a scanning unit was developed. The Scanning unit can be connected to Salinometer SL6000 and to SL6005. This combination enables the user to supervise the salinity on up 4 different measuring points using only one Salinometer.

 

In 2002 the company launched its latest model Salinometer SL6005. The new salinometer has also been tested by DNV.
